Happy Anniversary

8 years in the making!!!
(and 4.5 years of practice before that)

You are my best friend in the world and even though I don’t tell you enough, I am so proud to have you as my husband. We have our ups and downs, but in the end it only makes us stronger. I made a vow to stand next you through good times and bad, through rich and poor, in sickness and health…I still stand by those vows 8 years later. It has been quite a ride, but if you are willing to put up with me, I can only imagine what is in store for us in the next 8 years and beyond.

Thank you for being a great husband, an even better father, and a wonderful friend. You are the best man a woman could ask for!

Happy Anniversary!

I love you most to infinity!!!! (squared)

Happy Birthday Mack

Wow...where did the past 4 years go. It truly seems like yesterday that I was holding you in my arms for the very first time. You were so tiny, so precious, so dependent. Now look at what you have already become...a beautiful young independent little girl.

You definetly keep us on our toes and push us to our limits, but that is what makes you, you! We couldn't be prouder of you and we can't wait to see what a wonderful young lady you are going to become.

Happy 4th Birthday sweet girl....we love you!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow, what an exciting past two months we have had...I seriously can't believe it is already June. That means my baby is going to be 4 already, I REALLY can't imagine that. Well, anyway, thought I would just summarize all the fun we have had in April and May.
First is the house transformation...we feel like we have a completely new house from the outside...finally, no more pink!!!!

Then we had the event we had all been looking forward to all year....Clint and Jaci's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding that created lots of memories that will last forever. (Plus we all got to clean up and put on some pretty fancy clothing!)

Obviously, from the last post you can probably tell that we also found out that we are having another girl! Poor Jimi, he is just going to be outnumbered even worse now!!!

Mack started playing T-ball during this time period too. Mom and Dad's pride and joy! She actually does seem to enjoy it, not sure what she is supposed to be doing, but enjoying it none the less. She even had her first hit in a game and decided to make it into a triple, even if they are only supposed to run one base at a time... :) So fun to watch!

Finally, we took our last family vacation as 3!!! We traveled down south and stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge for a couple of days and then went on down to San Antonio. Down there we visited the Zoo, Sea World, and the Alamo/Riverwalk. Busy vacation, especially with a very "independent" 3-year old, but it was a nice break from the everyday commonalities that we are used to.

I can hardly wait to see what the next two months have in store for us...birthday parties, swimming, garage sales, preparing for new baby girl, and even more weddings. Should be yet another fun adventurous two months ahead of us!!!

In Loving Memory

Last night was a long hard night...just as I was laying down, I got one of those dreaded phone calls. This time it was about my Uncle Joel. He had some unexpecteed complications related to a combination of a weak heart and pneumonia. Then the really hard part started, I had to tell my dad about his brother. Never fun, but all a part of life.

Uncle Joel was always such a funny man. He couldn't seem to make it more than two or three sentences without some kind of joke. You had to be quick though because unless you were really listening, many times you might actually miss the joke. I was never able to get really close to Uncle Joel, but he was still my Uncle Joel and I will truly miss the times we did get to share! He was a good man who always aimed to entertain...I am sure he will be entertaining so many more where he is at now.

We love you Uncle Joel...

She Gets It...

Sunday, Mack and I were sitting outside on our swing enjoying the nice Spring air when we were quickly joined by both of our dogs, Boomer and Sadie. So I commented to Mack that the whole family was swinging! She quickly argued that not everyone was on there and I agreed with her and we kept swinging.

All the sudden, she jumped off the swing, ran and grabbed two little waffle balls and through them on the swing…saying, “This one is Rocky and this one is Whispy.” Then off she went again, this time she came back with her big bouncy ball and put it on the swing saying “this one is Daddy.” At which point, I thought she was done…I was wrong. She then disappeared and came back with her middle sized princess ball and put it on the swing and said “and this is the baby.” Climbing back on the swing she says, “Now the whole family is swinging!”

Soccer Time

Mack has started her first season of soccer this year. She seems to have fun some of the time...some of the time, she just stands around and watches people, instead of playing! I sincerely can't believe that she is big enough to be playing out there...when did my baby grow up so much?

Ice'd In

Well, here we are...stuck inside in N-town. Crazy amounts of ice, sleet, snow, freezing rain...you name it, it has come down over the past 24 hours. Of course with all ice/snow comes the fun of playing in it. Unfortunately, I am feeling a little under the weather, but was able to go out and at least take some pics/videos of the other two monkeys playing in it. Hope you enjoy!!!

Tears

I sit here tonight with tears rolling down my cheeks. I just talked with one of my best friends in the world about the loss of her to be father-in-law. She talked about what a wonderful man he was and what a difference he has made in her life over the past 8-9 months. I am quickly reminded of all of the strong and wonderful persons that have passed over the last year. Far to many and quite frankly...it's just not fair. I thought we weren't supposed to have to worry about our parents health until they were "old." They aren't "old" yet...so why are so many of them hurting and struggling and passing on. I know life is not fair, but damn...

I know that God has a plan for everything and we have to have faith in that plan, but we are allowed to question it too, aren't we? Why these good people, why so early? I wish I knew the answer, but not nearly as much as those of you that have lost these people. So bottom line, this one is for all of you. Please know that you are not alone...these losses are felt, they are felt deeply. FD, KG, WQ...you will not be forgotten anytime soon.
